Julie's Updates
International House of Prayer University Student Awakening
On November 11, during a 9:00am class of first-year students, led by Allen Hood and Wes Hall at International House of Prayer University (IHOPU), the Spirit moved in their midst with physical healings, deliverance, and a spirit of joy. That class, on November 11, continued for more than 15 hours. The word spread quickly, and over 2,000 people spontaneously gathered in the auditorium from all over the Kansas City area, as deliverance and physical healings increased. The meeting continued well past midnight. read more »

Julie's thoughts on the elections
I have received many emails and many questions about the elections so I wanted to write down my thoughts to help process this time that we are in. We have to remember that the prophetic word is not a guarantee; it is always an invitation. I believe that as God looked across America that there was not one prayer over-looked, there was not one meal you were fasted for God’s purposes that was over-looked. It all counts.
We are at a time in history of America just like Samuel generations ago.
“But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD.
And the LORD told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.
Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do. Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who were asking him for a king. He said,
-1 Samuel 8:
There are a couple of things on my heart. God is not upset. God is not surprised. God is firmly seated on the Throne and we take great confidence in this. We turn the page today, November 5, 2008 and start the next chapter of life in America.
Our pastor called November 5th a great and terrible day. It is a great day in America that we can set race aside and elect an African-American President. Racial barriers for so long have been broken down and our new President is an African-American. It is also a great day when in California, Arizona and Florida have all voted to ban gay marriage. This is a good thing in our nation though we know this battle will continue.
But it is a terrible day that our country has elected an extreme, extreme pro-choice president. But as in the time of Samuel when the people cried out for a king, God gave them a king. God gave them a king after their own heart. It is a day when America and the young adults from 18-30 have voted into office an extremely pro-choice candidate. It is a day where our county has made a clear turn for darkness. A clear turn for abortion, believers and unbelievers sided with pro-choice and cast their vote for change. This is a sobering time for America as it is a dangerous thing to have the blood-guilt of innocent babies on our land.
What do we do with the prophetic word? The invitation went out to understand God’s purposes for such and time as this. God gave a clear word and still; people young and old, saved and unsaved went to the polls and voted pro-choice and America made a drastic turn into darkness.
This is not a time where we think God is not listening. He is. We were created for such a time as this to trust God and find our place of authority in prayer. We have bookmark moments in the Word of God that we see how David handled his heart when walking through the season of Saul.
This is the time to cry out and all the more. We must put anger aside and turn our passion into intercession. God is unmoved and we must be unmoved in the place of prayer. This is a season where we humble ourselves and cry out all the more. As the world gives its heart to darkness, this is the place where we as the Bride begin to lift our voice and cry out still more and more.
Eph 1:17 -19 - that the God of Glory would give to America the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. We pray that the God of Glory would give to President-elect Obama and his family the Spirit of wisdom and revelation.
Ps 43:3,4 – We pray that God would send out His truth and His light and shatter the Darkness.
I Timothy - … I exhort first of all that supplication, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men...for kings and all who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence...for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.
This is what we do. We get a ‘head’s up’ from how David carried his heart and we pray and we humble ourselves. We do not speak evil of any on our new elected leaders, we pray.
David said ‘I will Not touch the Lord’s anointed.” He called Saul, God’s anointed. So we let God do what God is going to do. All hope is not lost, but the plans changed.
We know the end of the story and God wins and has a bride that shines and leans on her Beloved. So now we lean. So now we pray.
In 1 Samuel 8: 6....But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, ‘Give us a king to judge us...so Samuel prayed to the Lord.....and the Lord said to Samuel, ’Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.
This verse clearly shows that God heard the cry of Samuel just like God has heard our cry and also watched us lean into Him through fasting and prayer. So I want to encourage everyone. God heard every cry and He also saw every meal that was fasted and it all counts in God’s eyes, but just like in the days of Samuel, so today have the people cried out for a king after their own heart. God always gives the invitation and always gives people a choice. America made a choice turn for abortion and darkness.
I believe we have 2 years to hold the line in prayer and then there is another shift. It is not a time to be angry, or throw out the prophetic, but the cry of the people of this nation was LOUD. The cry of the believers and unbelievers of this nation was for a king....
So now we pray. We take our place of authority in the Spirit and ask God that He would break into President Obama’s life and family and give to them the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. We ask that God would encounter them like he did Saul of Tarsus a great breaking in of light. We ask for protection over his life.
This is not the time to lose hope but to gain strength that the cry went out. I loved the fact that the people I was praying with did not lose heart, did not waiver in faith....but prayed Mercy till the very time the election was called and I believe God heard and it all counts and it was credited to all of us as righteousness.
Heb 11:6... But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he who comes to God Must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Please feel free to email me with any other questions. But, let’s turn the page and fight this fight on our knees and pray a blessing on the leaders of our nation and await for the Lord to speak and lead. He still has a plan. I believe this plan now is a harder one, but we pray and we listen.
God bless you
